I-361 (Affidavit of Financial Support and Intent to Petition for Legal Custody for Public Law 97-359 Amerasian)
If your child is filing USCIS Form I-360 to verify status as an Amerasian and you are the parent of that child and a US citizen, you can file USCIS Form I-361 (Affidavit of Financial Support and Intent to Petition for Legal Custody for Public Law 97-359 Amerasian) in support of Form I-360. USCIS Form I-361 verifies that you have the financial means to support and will support an Amerasian child for five years. USCIS Form I-361 can also be used to petition for legal custody of your Amerasian child, provided that the child is a minor under 18 years of age.
