Once a P.L. 97-359 Amerasian child is admitted into the US after someone has filed I-361 (Affidavit of Financial Support and Intent to Petition for Legal Custody for Public Law 97-359 Amerasian), the child should be supported financially for five years. By completing USCIS form I-361, someone has confirmed that they will care financially for the child.
